Charles Hoodenpyl (1904–1986) was mayor of Jeffersonville, Indiana. Charles Hoodenpyl would serve as the mayor of Jeffersonville in 1952 until 1963 as the last part-time mayor before being replaced by Richard Vissing.〔Kleber, John E. ''Encyclopedia of Louisville''. (University Press of Kentucky). pg.443.〕 Hoodenpyl was mayor during the urban renewal era of Jeffersonville in which the former City Hall was dubbed the "White Elephant" by mayor Hoodenpyl. The building which was left vacant in 1935 before moving to the City-County building, was demolished during Hoodenpyl's administration.
